Free Screening August 18, 2009
Posted: August 12, 2009
The Minidoka County School District will sponsor a Free Screening for children ages 3-4 on August 18, 2009. If your child is having trouble in certain areas you may consider calling for an appointment for them to participate in this free screening process:
The areas of concern that will be addressed at the screening include Thinking skills or Academic abilities, Speech/Language skills, Behavior problems that cannot seem to be resolved, Motor skills or physical conditions, and Social skills or self-help skills.
According to Preschool teachers and staff, children having problems noted above can be helped with early interventions and can often move into kindergarten and first grade with these problems in check. The primary purpose of the Minidoka Preschool Center is to provide this early intervention for children with disabilities. The free screening is a review process that will determine if a child meets the criteria to attend the Preschool.
If you have any concerns regarding a child age 3-4 and wish to participate in this free screening, call the Minidoka Preschool Center at 436-6059 for an appointment, beginning August 3rd.
If you have any concerns regarding a child age 3-21 at any time throughout the year, please contact your local school for referrals for intervention services.
