Philosophy and Goals

Philosophy:

All students have the right to learn in a safe environment. Students will be educated to the upper limits of his or her intellectual potential. All students will develop knowledge, skills, and appreciation of their responsibilities as citizens, workers and lifelong learners.

East Minico Middle School will be a place where learning is exciting and challenging. Goals will be clearly stated and expectations will be high. The school will use state-of-the-art teaching methods and technology allowing teachers to focus on each student's needs and to serve as instructors, mentors, and motivators. Educators, parents, and community will share responsibility for helping students prepare themselves to perform productively in a global, multi-cultural environment.

Goals:

  • Attendance: Average student attendance will be 96%.
  • School Climate: The school will be a safe and pleasant environment for students, teachers, and staff members. Discipline referrals will be reduced.
  • Instruction: Students will learn the traditional subjects and gain the ability to obtain information, think critically, communicate clearly and solve problems. Achievement test scores will improve.
