    During the month of October our character trait is respect.  West Minico has school and classroom rules that should be followed.  These rules are made for you and your safety.  Students who are respectful follow the rules and try to make their school a better and safer place.

    Today is a shortened bell schedule for our ice cream fundraiser reward and pep assembly.  Today is a color day and it was great seeing so many of you wearing your blue and gold.  At 1:00 we will dismiss everyone for an hour of socialization and then we will have the ice cream rewards assembly and then the pep assembly starting at 2:00 in the gym for the football games this afternoon starting at 5:00 at Minico High School.

    We want everyone out to the games tonight to support our awesome football teams.  The band will be playing, the dance team will perform, the cheerleaders will be cheering, our student council will have a concession stand with lots of hot chocolate, nachos and hot dogs so bring your money.  We hope to have our student body there cheering us on to victory.  You will need your activity card or $3 to get in the game.  Seventh grade plays at 5:00 and 8th grade plays after at approximately 6:30 PM.

    Student Council members are selling Hallow-Gram messages for 50 cents each to be sent to your friends, foes, anonymously or even to yourself on the day of the Halloween Dance with a treat.  Last day to purchase a Hallow-Gram will be Wednesday, Oct 29th.  They will be delivered by student council on Halloween before the dance.

     All Warrior Pride shirts have been handed out during advisory yesterday.  If there is anyone who did not receive their shirt order or if your order was wrong you need to see Mrs. Dietz in room 17 today.  A final reorder will be made today at 1:00 PM.
    Study Skill Tip for the week- It is important to be in school to be successful, absences can affect your grade.  It is up to you to be responsible for making up your work.

     The quote for the week is: "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can accomplish today."

    MAKE IT A GREAT DAY THE CHOICE IS YOURS!

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    We want all of our Warriors to have integrity.  Integrity is doing the right thing even when nobody else is watching.  Being able to follow your conscience instead of the crowd.  Being able to think for yourself and make smart choice that are good for you.

    Thanks to our Language Arts Department for providing the Kick off to Reading Assembly.  We want all of our students to get caught reading and encourage students to have their reading book in every class so that if they finish their work they will be able to read.  All students are expected to turn in their reading logs.

     There will be a Saturday School Saturday, October 18th and 25th  from 7:00-11:00 AM.  Students need to sign up with Mrs. Claridge in room 204 to be admitted.  If you need extra help our school provides this Saturday School session.  Also, students need to be sure to have turned in their Saturday School permission form to their advisory teacher to allow them to attend for all classes. Advisory teachers please check to make sure all of your students have returned this important form that requires a parent signature.

     We are offering after school tutoring on Tuesdays and Wednesday from 3:25 until 5:00 for students who need to recover credits or  make up credit time due to excessive absences. Student need to bring back the form signed by a parent.

    The seventh grade team of teachers have chosen their students of the week for the first 6 weeks of school and would like to congratulate Karleen Kunzler, Gabby Paz, Waylon Blacker, Garrett Berry, Bailey Blacker, and Trevor Schultz.  Keep up the good work this year.

     By working together and achieving our schoolwide goal of selling over 700 boxes of ice cream and our students earned 1/2 day of free time and an extra dance.  The free day will be held Tuesday, October 21st when we will hold a shortened bell schedule on that day.  Free-time will begin at 1:00 and during the afternoon we will have our Ice Cream Reward assembly and our first pep assembly to get everyone excited about the football game to be held at Minico between East and West that same afternoon.  The 7th grade game will begin at 5:00 and the 8th grade game will follow.
