• Rupert Elementary Bond Changes

Rupert is growing! There are new homes being built throughout the community. The new development behind the hospital is only one example. WIth these new homes come new students and we need to be prepared for that growth.

With funds generated with the passing of the Bond we would be able to make the following changes at Rupert Elementary School. These plans are suggestions at this time and subject to change as the projects are completed.

    • Provide additional front entrance security. In order to provide for a more secure entrance and more effective lock down options, the second set of front doors would be locked throughout the day. After entering the first set of exterior doors visitors would need to be buzzed in by the secretary. This feature would most likely only be enforced once school got underway in the morning and throughout  the day.
    • Revised parent parking and drop-off. The current area for parent parking and drop-off would remain, however the current bus loading on the south of the building would also become parent drop-off.
    • Add bus loading area. In order to better separate parent and bus traffic we would create a new bus loading and unloading area directly east of the building in the current playground. The buses would enter and exit off of Meridian and would line-up side by side rather than end to end to load and drop off students. This area may also be used for staff parking or overflow parking for events.
