Credit Recovery
When a student loses credit due to excessive absences, he or she will receive an FA, meaning Failure to Attend. Students/Parents will be notified of the courses that will need to be recovered through credit recovery.
Students that fail courses, with an F letter grade, can recover high school credits through some credit recovery options. Students should schedule a meeting with their high school counselor to review options.
Credit Recovery Options:
Retake the course offered at Minico High School.
Retake course through IDLA (if course is offered).
Recover credit through Night School at Mt. Harrison (must meet criteria and meet with high school counselor to get on Mt. Harrison’s waiting list)
Attend summer school (not all credits are available during summer school)
If the absences are due to Dr. appointments, a doctor’s note will generally excuse the absences and the hours will not need to be made up. See district attendance policy
**** Priority credit recovery through IDLA is given to Juniors and Seniors. Freshman and Sophomore students may need to use the other options listed.
