Have you purchased a yearbook? If not, you still have time! Not sure if you bought one? Call the office and ask! They are $28 and the deadline to order one will be March 19th. The Publications staff has been pouring their heart and soul into it and would love to put one in your hands when they get here in May!

Some of our 7th graders from East Minico Middle School had the opportunity to visit a local automated dairy, and WOW — what an experience! 🐄🥛
Students got a firsthand look at how STEM and Agriculture go hand in hand every single day. From robotic milking systems and computerized feeding programs to data tracking cow health and production, it was amazing to see science, technology, engineering, and math in action on the farm.
This wasn’t just about cows — it was about:
🔬 Science in animal health and nutrition
💻 Technology in automation and robotics
📊 Math in production data and efficiency
⚙️ Engineering in the design of modern dairy systems
And yes… we briefly considered smuggling out a baby calf because they were THAT cute 🐮❤️ (Don’t worry — we left them all behind!)
Huge thank you to Jersey Girls Dairy team for showing our students how the future of farming is being built with STEM! 🌾🚜

We appreciate Mr. Griffin for stepping up at the last minute to run the gate at the 7th grade boys basketball game last night. Mr. Larson also needed help to run the Galley. These three students were in his room volunteering before Mr. Heath could finish the announcement! We have awesome Pirates here at East!

Ski Club Spotlight: Mr. Heath, our principal, began working at East Minico in 2020. When he arrived we found out 1) he liked to snow board 2) his daughter was at school and he wanted her to participate, 3) he could drive a school bus. We quickly began negotiating with him on what it would take for him to be our bus driver. After a brief negotiation session, he accepted the job and has been a important part of our team. Mr. Heath loves to snow board with the students and they often times challenge him to races. We love his sense of humor and we are glad he gives up his Friday nights to help make Ski Club possible.

Ski Club Teacher Spotlight: Mrs. Cook and her 6th grade daughter were both brand new Pirates three years ago. We knew one of her older children had been a Ski Club participant in the past, so we quickly inquired if she would be willing to help out and she jumped right in. As soon as we pull into the parking lot she heads right to the rental room to gather boots, helmets, skis and poles for our students. She also helps get them in their lessons, monitors the lodge, and helps with whatever else needs to be done. It takes team work for the club to succeed and she is an awesome team member and we are glad to have her here at East!

Ski Club Parent Spotlight! Mr. Nate McBride has been helping Ski Club since one of his daughters joined in 6th grade way back in 2014. He has since helped through three children. Mr. Richard Garner has helped us since 2018 when one of his children joined Ski Club and since he had a season pass he would come along as well. We appreciate Mr. McBride and Mr. Garner helping with loading and unloading the trailer, helping students in the rental room, and jumping in wherever needed! Mr. McBride will not have a student at East next year, but is anxious to jump back in the year after that for another three year stint when another of his children becomes a Pirate. Mr. Garner's youngest just started 6th grade this year and plans to help for at least another two years! Thanks so much to these two for all their years of help, we couldn't not run such a successful program without them!

Our Ski Club spent five Friday afternoons and evenings at Pomerelle learning to ski and snowboard. As you can see, our skiers outnumber our snowboarders by a significant margin this year! We would like to thank Pomerelle for inviting us, for having awesome instructors, also fabulous folks in the rental room, and all the cooks that made burgers and fries for us, and nature for providing enough snow to have a great time on the mountain!
