The 5th Grade Wax Museum was a hit! 🎩🎤📚
Acequia Elementary was filled with famous faces this week as our 5th graders brought history to life at their Wax Museum! From inventors to athletes, artists to world leaders, it was incredible to hear about the lives and accomplishments of so many influential people — all portrayed by our amazing students.
Every single 5th grader did a fabulous job, and we are so proud of their hard work and confidence. 👏 Here are just a few highlights to share!

All year long, our Houses worked hard to earn points for school spirit, academic excellence, outstanding performance, and good character—and now it’s time to celebrate! 🎉💫 Congratulations to the House of Reveur, our 2024–2025 House Champions! 💙 Known for their big dreams and even bigger hearts, Reveur led the way with grit, grace, and teamwork.
This Tuesday, we’re throwing a House Party for everyone—because it takes all four houses to make Acequia what it is. 🖤❤️💚💙 To help us honor Reveur, wear BLUE to school and get ready to celebrate a year well done!

Huge congratulations to Matthew Gutierrez and Elizabeth Palestina, two incredible 5th graders who have officially passed the State WIDA test and exited the EL program! 🎉📚 Their hard work and determination have paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder. To celebrate, they’ve earned a free meal and treat from Dairy Queen! 🍦💪 Way to go, Matthew and Elizabeth!

And to top it all off… Kona Ice rolled in during lunch and every student got to cool off with a snowcone, thanks to our amazing PTO! 🍧 It doesn’t get much better than this! Big shoutout to our PTO for always making days like these extra sweet!

House Field Day was a HIT! 🏅 Mrs. Turner knocked it out of the park with games built for teamwork and house pride— towel volleyball, human foosball, an epic tarp maze, and the fan favorite… HUNGRY HIPPOS! 🦛💨 Our students played hard, cheered loud, and came back after lunch for ROUND 2. Huge shoutout to the House of Isibindi for taking home the Sportsmanship Award! 💚

Sand treats, pool floats, and nonstop fun—what a way to wrap up the year! These kinders have had the best time, and we’re so grateful to Mrs. Ball for making it magical. 😎🦀🌊☀️

After reading Ready to Soar, our students took flight...literally! ✈️ Just like Riley, they learned that staying true to your vision is what makes your ideas soar. Our paper airplane contest reminded us that the best flights come when we believe in ourselves!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms of Acequia! We hope your day was filled with love, laughter, and maybe a little quiet time too. To every teacher who’s been called “mom” (sometimes more than their real name!) Thank you for the care, comfort, and guidance you give each day. Whether at home or in the classroom, your impact is immeasurable. We appreciate you more than words can say! 💐💛

🍒 We love our teachers CHERRY much! 🍒
This week we celebrated the incredible educators who make Acequia Elementary shine. From thoughtful gifts to sweet surprises, our teachers were truly spoiled—and they deserve every bit of it! 💌✨
A huge thank you to our amazing parents for helping us shower them with love. It takes a whole orchard to grow something great, and we’re lucky to have the best! 🌸❤️ #CherrySweetWeek #AcequiaAppreciatesYou

The Declo Trendsetters came today and, as always, put on a fabulous performance! This one felt extra special as a former Acequia student, Tucker Christensen, took the lead in his final show at Acequia. There were a lot of songs played, but The Greatest Showman was definitely a favorite and today truly felt like the greatest show at the greatest place! We are so proud of Tucker and all the Trendsetters for making it a performance to remember!
