Starting the day the Acequia way - connection before chaos . 4th graders reading to our 1st graders!

The Grinch’s heart grew three sizes- right around the time Altruismo hit 1st place... the race is still on!

Our PTO so graciously organized the Giving Tree once again. We are truly spoiled and incredibly grateful for the families who provided much-needed items from the lists. Thank you all—we couldn’t do it without you.

Join us this evening for a magical night as our 3rd–5th grade students present this year’s Christmas program, “Lights, Camera, Christmas!”

Our Eagles will bring favorite holiday movies to life with songs inspired by Elf, The Grinch, Home Alone, and The Polar Express.

When the elves think they run the school… 🚧
The naughty elves have officially taken over! Classroom doors were taped off, and entering required a little extra holiday bravery. Proceed with cheer… and maybe a careful side-step around the tape. 🎄✨

The naughty elves have been busy around Acequia! Somehow they snuck their way into our gratitude journals today—leaving their little mark behind—but every time we tried to catch them, they seemed to disappear. Maybe it’s because the school was full of the cutest elves we could find, dressed up and spreading cheer all day long. We’re not sure where the elves went… but we’re pretty sure the magic is still here. 💫🎄

Lights… Camera… CHRISTMAS! 🎬🎄

The final week before Christmas Break is here, and we’re celebrating with Holiday Movie Spirit Week to match our Christmas program, “Lights, Camera, Christmas!”

Each day is inspired by a classic holiday movie, giving us the perfect excuse to dress up, laugh together, and enjoy the magic of the season as one school family.

Guess who showed up at Acequia… AGAIN? 👀
Tiny footprints and a painted elf greeted us this morning, and our kids are convinced the naughty elves are officially back in business. Let the Christmas mischief begin! 🎄

Tomorrow is our Treat & Trinket Sale during lunch! Items are $1.00 each, and all proceeds go to support our Acequia PTO.

Students who wear an Acequia or House shirt will receive an extra treat. Thank you for supporting our school!

Today was one of those days that a camera just can’t quite capture. Our Acequia staff spent the morning at Jae’s Place, and the experience was nothing short of incredible. The message, the stories, the connection… it all left a mark on our hearts. We made promises together today — to be Bold, Inclusive, Nimble, and Generous. B.I.N.G. Simple words with a powerful purpose. We learned about creating “Boot Check” moments — intentional pauses to slow down, breathe, and truly check on ourselves or someone around us. In education, teachers take care of everyone else long before they take care of themselves… and this reminder couldn’t have come at a better time. We will set Jae’s story forward through the way we show up for ourselves, for our students, and for each other. I’m so grateful for the vulnerability, the strength, and the unity our staff showed today. It was amazing — and we will carry it forward. The first snowfall in Acequia did not disappoint ❄️⛄️ The snowmen just kept getting bigger and bigger as each recess went on. Here’s to winter magic and little hands that never stop building!

Our Acequia House Leaders came together today to decorate our school Christmas tree — and it is stunning! Each house added their own special touch, but when it all came together, it created one beautiful school tree. We love watching our students lead, create, and collaborate as one school, one family. You’ll have to stop by and see it in person… we’re pretty sure it’s the prettiest tree in all of Acequia! 🎄

This season can bring joy—and stress. Minidoka Schools is partnering with ParentGuidance.org to offer free mental-health resources for families, including live workshops, parent coaching, and tools for navigating the holidays. 💙
