Earlier this month, Acequia Elementary transformed into a Children’s Museum for a day! ✨ Thanks to the Children’s Museum of Magic Valley, our students had the chance to imagine, create, dream, explore, and discover in a hands-on, interactive learning experience. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this magical day possible!

Our students logged an amazing 858 hours of reading—enough time to travel around the U.S. THREE times! 🗺️✨
A huge shoutout to our top three fundraising champions: Remi Cameron, Hattie Tracy, and Lawson Nesbit! 🎉👏 Your dedication to reading and supporting our school is truly inspiring!
Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and cheered on our readers. Keep turning those pages! 📖

Don't forget to bring $1.00 to grab a tasty treat or a trinket tomorrow during lunch. All proceeds benefit our PTO.

Don't forget- tomorrow is our STEAM EVENT. This year, we’ll be serving a small meal (nachos and cookies), with all proceeds benefiting our Acequia PTO. The event itself is free, so gather your friends and family and join us for an evening of fun you won’t want to miss!

St. Patrick’s Day spirit was alive and dancing at Acequia today! ☘️ Our students took to the playground with their best Irish jigs, spreading joy and a little luck along the way. 💚
Nothing beats a little music, movement, and fun with friends!

Luck was in the air today at Acequia as our staff took on a spirited Rock, Paper, Scissors Challenge! Each teacher started with two green necklaces, battling it out throughout the day. The stakes? Pride, fun, and of course—our legendary Green Basket!
Students cheered on their teachers as the necklaces changed hands, leading to a thrilling final showdown. In the end, it came down to a tie-breaker match… and Miss McHan took home the win! What a fantastic way to bring some St. Patrick’s Day fun into our halls! 🍀💚 Mrs. Kendra Knight won third place (not pictured)

Happy National Butterfly Day! 🦋 Just like butterflies, our students are growing, transforming, and spreading their creativity. Check out this beautiful butterfly artwork from our talented students at Acequia!

It was one of those wild weather days—rain, snow, and a whole lot of imagination! ❄️☔️ Our students didn’t let the frozen ground stop them; they built a "snowman" out of frozen wood chips! Gotta love their creativity and teamwork. After all, teamwork makes the dream work!

Join us tonight and tomorrow during Parent-Teacher Conferences for our 2nd Annual Art Show! Our talented students have been busy creating incredible works of art where science meets creativity, bringing the world of bugs, blooms, and beauty to life! 🌿🎨 From dazzling butterflies to whimsical wildflowers, their masterpieces will have you feeling like you've stepped into a magical garden. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind experience at Acequia Elementary—everyone is welcome! Take a stroll, enjoy the creativity, and celebrate our young artists. We can’t wait to see you there! 🐛🌷🎨

📚✈️ Today, our students embarked on an unforgettable reading adventure during our Read-A-Thon! With passports in hand, they traveled across the U.S., experiencing the magic of books in exciting destinations:
🌵 Arizona – Reading under the desert sky in the Star Lab
🗿 South Dakota – Visiting Mount Rushmore in a game show hosted by George Washington himself!
🏖️ Florida – Soaking up the sun and reading on the beaches of Miami
🎭 New York – Stepping into the lights of Broadway with reader’s theater
💡 California – Exploring the lighthouses through a captivating read-aloud
Passports were stamped, books were read anywhere and everywhere, and imaginations soared! 📖✨
A huge thank you to our incredible Acequia PTO for making this literary journey possible—we are so grateful for your support! 💙

Our Read-a-Thon is officially underway! We kicked off the day with a live interview with Marc Colagiovanni, author of The Reflection in Me, our Book of the Month! Students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into his inspiring story. Just like the book reminds us to see our own strength and potential, reading helps us discover new perspectives and places. Today, as we read, we’re also ‘traveling’ across the states—exploring new adventures, cultures, and ideas along the way. Let the journey begin! 🇺🇸❤️📚

No matter where you went today at Acequia Elementary, wackiness was in the air! 🤪🎉 From wild hairdos to the most outrageous outfits, our students and staff went all out for Wacky Wednesday! The creativity, laughter, and school spirit made it a day to remember.

When sportsmanship meets storybook magic! 📚🏆 Our amazing PE teacher, Mrs. Turner channeled her inner Miss Trunchbull for ‘Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character’ day—but don’t worry, no chokey here, just good old-fashioned fitness and fair play! 💪👏 From push-ups to jumping jacks, she’s proving that strength, discipline, and a little fun go hand in hand. #NationalSportsmanshipDay #ReadAThon #AcequiaElementary

Snow much fun at Pomerelle today! ❄️⛷️ Our 5th graders hit the slopes for their annual ski trip, and it was an absolute blast. Huge shoutout to our amazing team for making it happen—it’s no small feat balancing beginners and pros! Grateful for sunshine, snow, and the best crew around!
