2nd grade took on ELEVATE Gymnastics and they were ALL IN! Jumping, climbing, running, laughing, and playing until they had absolutely no energy left to spare.

What a fun way to celebrate the end of the year and give those students a place to let all that excitement out where it belongs! Huge shoutout to our incredible 2nd grade team for planning such a memorable field trip experience for our students. It was definitely a huge hit and one they’ll be talking about for a long time! 🦅

Today we celebrate the many mothers of Acequia Elementary. ❤️🌸

To the moms at home - thank you for trusting us each day with the most important people in your lives. Your love, encouragement, and support are the foundation our students build from each day.

And to the incredible women within our school - the teachers, paras, secretaries, cooks, aides, and staff who help comfort tears, celebrate successes, offer hugs, tie shoes, and care for children throughout the school day - thank you for helping make Acequia feel like home.

It truly takes a village to raise and support children, and we are grateful for every mother figure who helps shape the lives of our students both inside and outside our school walls.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Acequia Elementary. 🌷❤️

Bold. Passionate. Unstoppable.
Just like the people who make Acequia Elementary so special. ❤️🐎🔥

A small reminder of the fire you carry into our school each day.

This week was filled with laughter, surprises, games, treats, and appreciation but none of it could ever fully express how grateful we are for the incredible staff who make Acequia feel like family.

Thank you for the heart, dedication, and love you pour into our students and school every single day.

Our 4th grade students had so much fun learning about the history of Minidoka County and the founding of our country as we begin celebrating the 250th Anniversary of American Independence. It was a great opportunity to connect the past to the present and help students better understand the people, events, and stories that shaped our nation and community. 🇺🇸

The Fire Horse Stampede galloped through Acequia today and WOW… what a day. 🔥🐎

The halls were filled with excitement, teamwork, strategy, and just a little extra urgency during bathroom breaks and bandaid requests… because everyone knew there just might be another flame or horse hidden nearby. 😅

Students searched the school from top to bottom all day long, hoping to collect enough horses and flames to bring their class into the running for the grand prize. The competition was fierce, the energy was unmatched, and the smiles were endless.

Congratulations to Mrs. Ball’s Kindergarten class for taking home the win — the viral dumpling squishy and a gift card to Ma's Custard! 🥟✨

One of the sweetest moments of the day? Mrs. Stocking's class handed over their horses and flames to help Mrs. Ball’s students win. A reminder that the spirit of the Year of the Fire Horse isn’t just about energy and excitement — it’s also about kindness, generosity, and lifting others up. ❤️

And yes… all FOUR golden horses were found. 👀🐎

Without a doubt, this was one of the highlights of the day. So much fun, so many memories, and a whole lot of Acequia magic.

Kindergarten took on the bowling alley last week—and what a blast it was! 🎳✨

With cosmic bowling, snacks, and treats, our littlest Eagles had so much fun and made memories they’ll be talking about for a long time. These are the moments that matter—watching friendships grow and experiences begin for our youngest students!

Today we “rode into good fortune” at Acequia Elementary! 🐎✨

Our teachers were treated to a few symbols of luck and appreciation—with a drink in hand, of course! 🥤 Money for prosperity, chocolate for sweetness, oranges for good fortune, and herbal tea for a moment of calm.

Just like the Year of the Fire Horse, our teachers lead with strength, purpose, and determination every single day. We are so lucky to have a staff that gives so much to our students and school community.

We had a very special guest in the office today—Miss Hattie Tracy, our Principal of the Day! 🎉

Hattie earned this role by being a top seller in our Read-A-Thon, and she got a behind-the-scenes look at a day in the life of a principal. From helping with duties to running a few important errands… including delivering Fizz Farm drinks to staff! 🥤

A big thank you to our amazing PTO for the special treat—we felt so spoiled!

Hattie was an absolute natural and such a big help around the office. I’m just wishing I could keep this mini-me permanently! 😊

Thank you, Miss Tracy, for being such a great partner today—we loved having you lead alongside us!

“Ignite the Fire” ❤️🔥🐎

Today our students took time during lunch to create something truly special—handmade cards for their teachers. The kind filled with love, creativity, and little messages that mean more than they know… and the kind that teachers hold onto for years.

That Fire Horse spirit is all about heart, kindness, and connection—and we saw it shining bright today.

These are the moments that remind us just how powerful a few simple words can be. ❤️

On Thursday, we had an extra special treat at Acequia! Our very own Mr. Strauch took a personal day to spoil his colleagues with his incredible sourdough pizza—served hot and fresh in the teachers' lounge.

Paul, thank you for your generosity and for treating us to a lunch we’re still thinking about (and wishing we had more of!). It truly takes everyone to make this school what it is, and it’s the little things like this that make Acequia the very best. 🍕

Our staff made Principal’s Day extra sweet for Mrs. Hepworth! 🍦💛

With an ice cream theme centered around her very favorite treat (because let’s be honest… ice cream fixes everything 😉), the day was full of fun, laughter, and thoughtful surprises.

And the fun didn’t stop there… 250 mini ice cream cones somehow found their way into Mrs. Hepworth’s pockets throughout the day—bringing lots of smiles and a whole lot of appreciation.

Acequia is so lucky to have a principal who pours so much into her school, staff, and students each and every day. We appreciate you, Mrs. Hepworth! 🦅✨

We may have missed the official day on May 1st, but there’s no way we’re missing the chance to celebrate our amazing lunch heroes! 🍎💛

Mrs. Knight and Mrs. Lopez make our lunchroom such a special place to be. From the moment students walk through the line, they’re greeted with smiles, energy, and genuine care. Their excitement and engagement throughout the school is truly top notch, and the fun they bring each day does not go unnoticed.

Thank you for keeping our Eagles fed, happy, and feeling loved—we appreciate you today and every day! 🦅✨ #SchoolLunchHeroes

It may have been a cold, rainy Idaho day, which kept us indoors a bit more than we planned, but it didn’t stop us from celebrating and appreciating the world around us.

After a winter and early spring full of sunshine and warmer days (that we’ve been extra grateful for), today gave us a little reminder that every kind of weather plays a part in taking care of our Earth.

To add a little fun to the day, students enjoyed “dirt cups” at lunch — a sweet (and messy!) reminder of the ground beneath our feet and all the ways the Earth supports us every day.

Rain or shine, we’re thankful for this beautiful place we get to learn and grow in. 🌱

Today we celebrated the heart of our front office… our very own Mrs. Cheri — the Office Queen & Acequia MVP!

From band-aids to busy phones, fixing copiers to making last-minute copies, calming upset students to dropping everything to help wherever needed… she truly does it ALL. There is no way we could run our school without her.

To show just how much we appreciate her, our school was filled with balloons of every kind — ducks, flowers, butterflies, Barbie, “get well,” “congrats,” princess, "happy anniversary"… you name it, it was there! The office was overflowing with love, laughter, and a whole lot of helium.

We proudly wore our “We Love Your Face” stickers and had so much fun celebrating someone who gives so much to all of us every single day.

Mrs. Cheri, we love your face and we are so lucky you’re ours! 🎈
