We are proud to recognize our Teacher and Classified Staff of the Year!

Mrs. Brittany Rigby was nominated as our Teacher of the Year—and it comes as no surprise. Her calm demeanor, kind heart, and constant encouragement make her someone everyone can count on. She is always there when you need her, ready with a compliment or simply a listening ear. Brittany truly makes a difference in the lives of both students and staff each and every day.

Miss Miriam Stocker was nominated as our Classified Staff of the Year. We have been so fortunate to have her at Acequia for a handful of years. Miriam brings a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine love for our students. She always has a smile on her face, is willing to jump in wherever needed, and builds meaningful relationships with the kids she serves.

These two ladies represent what Acequia is all about. We are incredibly lucky to have them as part of our team.

Mrs. Turner brought the energy this month with an epic March Madness showdown! The competition was fierce, the battles were grueling, and every student gave it their best shot.

Through it all, one thing stood out... sportsmanship. Win or lose, our students showed what it means to compete with heart, support one another, and keep going.

And yes… there may or may not have been a few tears along the way—but that just shows how much they cared.

In the end, it was all about having fun, building character, and making memories. Way to go, everyone! 🏀

This month, our 4th graders turned Acequia Elementary into a hub of discovery, creativity, and curiosity! From growing terrariums to experimenting with slime and everything in between, students explored the world of science in hands-on, exciting ways.

They asked big questions, tested their ideas, and showcased their learning with confidence. We saw future scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers in action!

We are so proud of the effort, creativity, and enthusiasm our 4th graders put into their projects. Way to go, scientists! 🌱✨

What an incredible day, March 5th was at Acequia Elementary! This year’s Read-A-Thon was truly one to remember. Thanks to our amazing parents and volunteers, our school was transformed into a learning adventure across the country. Students had the opportunity to “travel” to Kentucky, Utah, Hawaii, Texas, and Alaska—all while engaging in meaningful reading experiences.

Each stop along the way brought something unique and exciting. From derby races in Kentucky, to pineapple taste testing in Hawaii, to the most incredible igloo and northern lights display in Alaska—it was all so thoughtfully planned. Students explored outdoor adventures in southern Utah and enjoyed rich western stories that brought learning to life in such a fun and memorable way.

It was a day full of joy, creativity, and connection—one that truly highlights the power of our school community.

Thank you to everyone who supported and helped make this day possible. We are so grateful for you and couldn’t have done it without you.
