As we head into summer, we wanted to share our Acequia Elementary Summer Edition Newsletter. This will serve as a working document throughout the summer and will be updated as information becomes available. Inside, you'll find important resources such as school supply lists, the school calendar, upcoming dates, registration information, and other events and announcements. We will do our best to keep this document current so families have one convenient place to find the latest information. Please save this link and check back periodically for updates throughout the summer.
Thank you for your support, partnership, and all you do for our students. We hope you have a safe, relaxing, and incredible summer. We can't wait to welcome our Eagles back in August!
🎓 As our 5th graders leave Acequia Elementary, we hope they remember that while their paths may take them in different directions, the memories and friendships they built here will always stay with them.
We really do go together, and no matter where life takes them, they will always have a home at Acequia. If they believe in themselves, work hard, and keep chasing their dreams, they just might kiss the sky.
A special thank you to our two teachers who joined the Acequia 5th grade team this year. They brought heart and dedication to our students and did an incredible job helping prepare them for their next chapter.
Congratulations, 5th graders!

The real superheroes weren't just in the stories last week. 🦸♂️❤️ Our 4th graders shared their writing with 1st graders and showed what it means to be leaders, role models, and readers.

The smiles say it all. 🖤
An afternoon filled with soaked shoes, wet towels, laughter, friendships, and memories in the making. Watching our Eagles simply be kids and celebrate together was something special.
Our Party on the BLACKtop was full of surprises, and the reactions when students saw the foam for the first time were priceless! Creating moments... a little chaos, a lot of fun, and the kind of core memories kids won't forget. Who comes up with these crazy ideas anyways? 😆
Congratulations to Altruismo for this year's House celebration win! Today reminded us that school is about so much more than academics. It's about creating moments students carry with them long after they leave our halls.

Today we honored and celebrated our winning house, Altruismo! 🖤🐉
Students proudly carried the dragon they created while the rest of our Eagles cheered them on and congratulated them on an incredible year. One of our favorite parts of today was watching students celebrate each other, because winning is exciting, but learning sportsmanship, encouragement, and supporting others matters too.
Altruismo represents kindness, generosity, and putting others first, and today was a fun way to celebrate the hard work that led them here. Congratulations, Altruismo!

Entering into our LAST week of school with only TWO days left... say whaaat?! 🤯🎉
How did we get here already? In just two days we still have a House Celebration, Minico Grad Walk, 5th grade vs. staff kickball, 5th grade graduation, Pizza Hut Day, and lots more! We are definitely going out with a BANG as we make these final memories together.
Just a reminder: The last day of school for students will be Wednesday, May 27th. Let’s make these final days the best ones yet! ❤️🦅

Some projects are bigger than paint and brushes. ❤️
As Kristi Wilson heads to 6th grade, this sweet girl wanted to leave one more mark and paint the blacktop one last time. With incredible help and support, the blacktop got a fresh new look and looks amazing!
A huge thank you to Abby, Natalie, Ivy Kent, Hunter Halverson, Brogan Blauer, Amiee Bingham, Bailey Seibold, Addi Christiansen, Kristi and Megan Wilson for giving your time and energy to our school. And if I missed anyone who jumped in to lend a hand, please know we are just as grateful for you too.
Your service, dedication, and willingness to step in and help is what makes Acequia so special. The blacktop will be enjoyed by so many students for years to come, and every painted line is a reminder of the people who care deeply about our Eagles.
Thank you for leaving your mark on Acequia. 🦅

Yesterday was our yearbook signing day, and it was one of those moments that reminds us just how special a school year can be. So much hard work and many extra hours went into creating a book that captures the memories, moments, and smiles from this year.
Watching students move from class to class, laughing, signing pages, and connecting with friends across grade levels created memories we won't soon forget. These are the little moments that become the big memories.
Thank you to everyone who purchased a yearbook and helped make our first yearbook such a special keepsake for our Eagles. ❤️📚

This year, Ms. Hanxleden's class had 8 Super Readers! We celebrated with everyone because each student worked so hard all year long.
The day was filled with cowboy stories, extra time out on the range for recess, and the Super Eight enjoyed a special BBQ lunch with their teacher. The fun continued with team rodeo events including dress-like-a-clown relays and team barrel racing.
Hard work, reading, and making memories all in one day. Way to go, Eagles! 🤠📚

T was for Tye Dye in 2nd grade! 🌈🧢 These colorful hats turned out amazing and are sure to be worn for years to come, reminding students just how much fun the ABC countdown to the end of the school year has been. Creating memories one letter at a time!

The 3rd Grade Lemonade War went down today during lunch... 🍋🥤 and the results are in... Mrs. Robbins’ class, Shark Attack, took the win! 🦈🏆
But if we're being honest, both recipes were a huge success and could probably be sold for millions. More importantly, our students had fun, showed creativity, and squeezed a little friendly competition into the day! 💛

Today’s school picnic was a hit! ☀️🦅 Students enjoyed lunch outside, soaking up the beautiful sunshine and fresh air while spending time together. Days like these remind us that sometimes the simple moments become the best memories. 🍎🌳

Mr. Strauch’s 4th grade class stepped back into Idaho history and learned firsthand how pioneers lived! 🥖 Students made sourdough just like Idaho pioneers once did, mixing history with hands-on learning and getting a small taste of life on the trail. Learning comes alive when students can experience it for themselves! 🤠📚

Mrs. McCall’s first graders turned into little paleontologists this week! 🦴🔍 Digging, discovering, and carefully breaking apart chocolate chip “fossils” one piece at a time. Learning is always more fun when it comes with a little adventure... and chocolate! 🍪🦕

Our first-ever bounce house was a huge hit at Field Day! A big thank you to 208 Party Time Rentals for making the process seamless from set-up to take-down, and to our PTO for helping make it happen for our Eagles.
The obstacle course quickly became a highlight of the day as students raced through with excitement, smiles, and plenty of friendly competition. The energy and excitement on their faces said it all! Thank you for helping make Field Day one to remember.

Nothing says Field Day lunch break quite like Kona Ice! 🍧 Students cooled off from a fun-filled morning and recharged before heading into the afternoon session.
A huge thank you to our incredible PTO for continuing to spoil our Eagles and helping create moments our students get excited about. We heard it over and over throughout the day: "Today was the best day yet!"

Field Day was one for the books! Bounce houses, Twister, tug-a-war, meeting Ollie the Octopus, Granny Pants, Battleship, mat relays, and so much more filled the day with fun and excitement. Students spent the morning and afternoon laughing, cheering one another on, earning house points, and making memories together.
Sportsmanship awards were earned by houses that stood out for their encouragement, respect, and positive attitudes throughout the day. Congratulations to Amistad and Reveur in the morning and Isibindi in the afternoon!
A huge thank you goes to Mrs. Turner for planning an incredible day from start to finish. The amount of time, organization, and heart that goes into making a day like this happen does not go unnoticed. Thank you for creating a day our Eagles will be talking about for a long time! 🦅

🎉 We’re excited to celebrate the hard work and success of our Minidoka School District students and staff! Minico High School surpassed Idaho state averages in ELA and Math, and schools across our district showed impressive score improvements. We are so proud of the dedication, effort, and achievement happening in our schools. To celebrate, there will be no school for students on May 28th. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos de nuestros estudiantes, maestros y escuelas! #MinicoPride #AcademicSuccess #MinidokaSchools
